1. Roles that do not require any sport experience
Start team assistants
To work with the Start Team Leader and carry our one of several different checking processes such as checking off their name; that they have cleared and checked their SI card; and directing them into the correct lane. You do not need to have orienteering experience for this role, but it is an active and responsible role and you need to concentrate to make sure you don’t miss anyone. Four to eight roles per morning:
Wednesday 9th September Middle race at Rosiesle, 4 hour shift, 2 spaces remaining.
Thursday 10th Sprint Race at Sanquhar, two x 2.5 hour shifts, 4 spaces remaining.
Friday 11th Mass Start Race at Lossiemouth, 2 hour shift, 1 space remaining.
Saturday 12th Long Race at Darnaway, 4 hour shift, now 1 space remaining vacancies.
Car park helpers
To work with other volunteers to welcome competitors and help marshal them into orderly rows and make best use of the available car park space. Three roles per morning, time commitment approx 2.5 hours her day.

Map collection at finish
This is an active and responsible role working in a team of 3 in a short, action-packed shift that runs in the window from first finisher to final starter (times tbc). To retrieve maps from finishers immediately after they finish and write their race number on their map. We then keep maps securely so that any competitors who have not yet started do not have sight of a competition map. Once the race start has closed, you will support competitors when they return to reclaim their own map by presenting their race number.

Marshals for Sprint race
Right in the action roles on Thursday 10th September at Sanquhar. We will take you to your marshal location where you will be keeping an eye on riders on one-way tracks. We will show you exactly what you will be doing. Approx 3 hour shift. An exciting role right in the action!

Medal Ceremony Coordinator
To organise a short, professional and respectful medal ceremony and clearly announce the names of the winners. A calm, confident person who is happy to lead the ceremony and announce the names of the medallists. You would need to manage a light-weight podium and set out the trophies. You will be provided with a ceremony schedule and the Finish Team Leader will help you collate and understand the final results. You will be accompanied by an elite athlete who will hand over the prizes.

2. Roles that require orienteering experience
We would welcome offers of help from members of foot orienteering club members with these roles:
Marshals
Required for the Sprint race on 10th September at Sanquhar. There will be two shifts with 6 marshals in each shift. Marshals will be monitoring the one-way tracks and taking photos of any competitors riding the wrong way. We will take you to your marshal location and brief you on which way the riders are permitted to travel. An exciting role, right in the action!
SPORTIdent Timing Support
To help at race download and be able to deal with trouble-shooting issues such as wrong course, wrong dibber number. SI experience essential. Required Wednesday 9th; Thursday 10th; Friday 11th, Saturday 12th – for an individual day or any combination of days.
Finish Team
Under the guidance of an experienced team leader, and working closely with the SI team, to oversee manage the finish line process.

Late start team shift for competitors
Thursday 10th Sprint at Sanquhar, 2 hour shift, now 5 vacancies. 2nd shift is suitable for M35- M55 competitors who have early start blocks.
Sprint marshals 2nd shift
M35- M55 competitors who have early start blocks can be briefed and ride to a marshalling position monitoring one-way tracks.
Car park helpers
